Background
This short motion graphic was created for Biology of the Despised, an Amphibian Foundation program featured in the Atlanta Science Festival. It aims to clear up a common misconception about snapping turtles by explaining that their defensive behavior comes from being unable to retreat into their shells.
Designed to be approachable and informative, the piece features cutout-style illustrations, an earthy color palette, and organic typography. After designing the assets in Illustrator, I animated them in After Effects. The finished piece supports the Foundation’s mission to turn fear into understanding and helped me grow my skills in educational motion design.
